EV charging map
Every public charging station in the US, from the DOE's NREL data. Zoom into an area or use your location and the stations load for whatever's on screen. For cross-country route planning (which charger to stop at for your car's range), A Better Route Planner and PlugShare are purpose-built — this is the map for seeing what's actually out there.
A straight-line map of NREL-listed public stations — not a live-availability or routing tool. Confirm a charger is working in the network's own app. Source: U.S. DOE / NREL AFDC.

How many EV charging stations are in the US?
NREL's Alternative Fuels Data Center lists 82,907 public EV charging stations across the 50 states and DC, with 79,113 DC fast-charging ports. California has the most (20,180), followed by New York (5,611) and Massachusetts (4,615).
How do I find DC fast chargers on the map?
Tick "DC fast only" above the map. DC fast chargers (CCS, NACS/Tesla, CHAdeMO) add most of a charge in 20 to 40 minutes; everything else is Level 2. Use the plug filter to show only stations that fit your car.
Is this a live availability map?
No. It shows NREL's station records, refreshed weekly, not whether a charger is free or working right now. Check the network's own app before you rely on a specific plug.
